UPDATE: After yesterday’s key art release for Denzel’s The Equalizer 3, Sony Pictures has unveiled the brutal and unexpectedly violent red band trailer for Robert McCall’s third outing. If this trailer is any sign, Denzel is going to get efficiently down and dirty and more so then the other two outings. This third and supposed final chapter is looking to wrap up McCall’s character arc with a bloody bang. I’ll be there!!!

(Original Post) Robert McCall is about to once again dust off his dormant spec ops signature skill set as new key art has dropped for Equalizer 3! Yes it’s official because you know I do my homework 😆. That inside joke is never going to get old. Anyway, I digress. Peek at Denzel Washington’s return below as we impatiently wait for the first trailer that is set to hit tomorrow!

Official Synopsis: Since giving up his life as a government assassin, Robert McCall (Denzel Washington) has struggled to reconcile the horrific things he’s done in the past and finds a strange solace in serving justice on behalf of the oppressed. Finding himself surprisingly at home in Southern Italy, he discovers his new friends are under the control of local crime bosses. As events turn deadly, McCall knows what he has to do: become his friends’ protector by taking on the mafia.

It’s cool to see that this one will have an international flair to it and setting it in Italy will be fresh and welcoming for the trilogy. Antoine Fuqua, who helmed the first two, returns once again along with franchise writer Richard Wenk so you know that this one will deliver on all levels including action and heavy drama.

Washington will be reunited with his Man on Fire co-star Dakota Fanning who is all grown up now. I’m guessing she’s got a role similar to Chloe Moretz in the first film. It’ll be nothing short of great to see the two together again as their first pairing is a classic.
