Herman Yau, the master of making mindless Chinese action epics that explode with endless arrays of firepower and high drama, returns to direct the third entry in the blockbuster The White Storm franchise. Aptly titled The White Storm: Heaven or Hell (sounds like a John Woo Bullet fest from the 80’s), a new teaser has surfaced and The Arty Dans has it for you below courtesy of his site Asian Film Fans. Louis Koo, who is the only star to have fired ammo in all three films, returns for the wrap up and he’s joined by notable stars Sean Lau, who played a completely different character in the first one, and first time franchise star Aaron Kwok rounds out the Trinity of Asian action stars.

I have to admit, right now, I’m a huge fan more than ever of Asian action cinema as they are truly setting the theaters on fire with hyper-kinetic set pieces. South Korea for one is really teaching a master class right now and their latest offering The Killer, my review coming soon, is really getting awesome buzz.

The White Storm 3, a Chinese/Hong Kong co-production, does look generic and the action routine but I never get sick of movies that shoot, punch, kick, explode or most importantly do all the above. Maybe that’s why I made it my author tagline on my site. I digress however.
