News coming out of the American Film Market has a new film starring Jean-Claude Van Damme called Silent Kill. JCVD will headline the action project chronicling the story of a group of mercenaries who find a treasure in the Congo. Of course, things go awry and I’m sure many bullets will be spent during the running time.
Per Deadline:
Anthony Hickox (Hellraiser III) wrote the screenplay and will direct the film, which will follow four mercenaries who find a hidden treasure in the Congo. They bury it and agree to meet back at the same spot in three years and split the fortune evenly, but things take a different turn.
Starring alongside Van Damme will be NFL star-turned-actor Vernon Davis (Gasoline Alley), Rafael Amaya (The Lord of Skies) and Madalina Anea (Watcher).
Van Damme will produce as well along with Joram Moreka. Executive producers will include Andrea Iervolino, Monika Bacardi, Ovidiu Toma and Bradly Gentz. It is being said that filming will commence in France during the first quarter of 2023 and Silent Kill will be brought to the AFM for buyers to gobble up.
“One of the all-time great action stars, Jean-Claude Van Damme has cultivated a worldwide fanbase that will absolutely love this adrenaline-fueled movie that starts fast and never takes it’s foot off the gas pedal. Its Van Damme doing what everyone loves watching him do,” stated Iervolino.
This is interesting because a while back it was being reported that JC was going to retire after making one more action epic titled What’s My Name? It would appear that this film is being pushed back and JC has more fuel in his tank before calling it quits. We shall see but Silent Kill does sound promising.
Keep it locked and loaded right here for more to hit on this and any other JCVD projects as we are your destination for everything action in 2022 and beyond!
