With all the DC news making headlines today, it’s obvious that Marvel Studios wouldn’t just lay back and let them have all the fun. After weeks of rumors and speculation, it has now been confirmed that Harrison Ford will indeed take over the role of General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross in Captain America: New World Order. The late, great William Hurt played the role of the iconic comic book character before his sad passing away this year but he need not worthy because the role is safe in the hands of Han Solo himself. Hurt famously played the role of Ross from 2008’s The Incredible Hulk to 2021’s Black Widow and he owned the role when he was alive.
With Ford appearing as Ross in New World Order, it is also being said that he will also show up in the highly anticipated Marvel’s Thunderbolts as well. This one is speculation but it’s a no brainer seeing that Ross is heavily involved with that group of Anti-Heroes and Marvel will assuredly look to plug in Ford anywhere and everywhere they can for as long as he is still acting. Ford will make one last appearance as Indiana Jones when the fifth film in the blockbuster franchise hits theaters next year.
I was actually going to report Ford playing Ross earlier but felt that it was best to wait and see it confirmed which it now has. I tend to stay away from rumors and to only report concrete news as we all know things can change in a New York minute and that rumors swirl around everywhere and most never fully materialize. I am excited that this one has come to pass as Ford is a favorite of mine ever since I saw Star Wars in the theater back in 1977.
Ford is 80 years old now so it’s unfortunately safe to say that his acting career is definitely in its twilight years. Now Ford is in great shape but the role of the General looks to be physical as well so I will figure that stuntmen will take over most of that department.
Keep it locked and loaded right here for more info to arise as we are your destination for everything action and Marvel in 2022 and beyond!
