The wait is almost over as the Netflix original movie Day Shift, from first time director and veteran stunt master J.J. Perry, will hit this Friday. The film has a great cast that includes Jamie Foxx, Snoop Dog and action star Scott Adkins.

Adkins stars as one half of the Nazarian Brothers who are elite vampire hunters. Adkins’ other half is played by Steve Howey, who recently did a 3 episode arc on SEAL TEAM, and the two are tacked up in a new image that Adkins shared on social media. Look below for the first look image!

Jamie Foxx stars as a hard working blue collar dad who just wants to provide a good life for his quick-witted daughter, but his mundane San Fernando Valley pool cleaning job is a front for his real source of income, hunting and killing vampires as part of an international Union of vampire hunters.

Foxx stars along with an eclectic cast that includes Snoop Dogg (Bones), Scott Adkins (Accident Man), Dave Franco (The Disaster Artist), Meagan Good (Monster Hunter), Karla Souza (How to Get Away with Murder), Eric Lange (Narcos), Zion Broadnax (Holly Day), Natasha Liu Bordizzo (The Society), Oliver Masucci (The Swarm), Steve Howey (Shameless), and C.S. Lee (Dexter).

I’m just curious to see how Adkins is utilized here as John Wick helmer Chad Stahelski is producing the film along with Jason Spitz via the 87Eleven Entertainment production banner. I’m positive Adkins will dazzle with his trademark action because of who’s involved behind the camera. I am a little disappointed that we haven’t seen him do anything and we only see him for a second here. I know it’s not an Adkins led project but I’m sure Perry gave my man moments to shine.

We only see Adkins and Howey for a split second on the newest trailer but hopefully, they’re saving the goods for the full film.

After the failure of The Gray Man, I’m hoping this one delivers. It certainly has the right people behind the camera and the footage looks great so we shall see this weekend. Stay tuned for my thoughts!
