DAY SHIFT- A New First Look Video Teases a Blood Soaked & Action Ready Thrill Ride for Netflix’s Upcoming Vampire Flick Starring Jamie Foxx & Scott Adkins

By: John M Jerva

Netflix has unleashed a BTS video for their upcoming vampire action-thriller Day Shift which teases the balls to the wall set pieces we are in store for. Starring Jamie Foxx and Scott Adkins and helmed by stunt master, martial artist and filmmaker J.J. Perry, this one looks like it’ll actually deliver the bloody goods that it promises. Check out the new tease below!

The guys who taught John Wick how to kick ass, are now teaching Jamie Foxx, Dave Franco, and Snoop Dogg how to hunt vampires. Day Shift, coming August 12 only on Netflix. In Day Shift, Jamie Foxx stars as a hard working blue collar dad who just wants to provide a good life for his quick-witted daughter, but his mundane San Fernando Valley pool cleaning job is a front for his real source of income: hunting and killing vampires as part of an international Union of vampire hunters.

After the disappointing Interceptor this week, this one looks like it’ll actually kick all kinds of ass and then some.

Foxx stars along with an eclectic cast that includes Snoop Dogg (Bones), Scott Adkins (Accident Man), Dave Franco (The Disaster Artist), Meagan Good (Monster Hunter), Karla Souza (How to Get Away with Murder), Eric Lange (Narcos), Zion Broadnax (Holly Day), Natasha Liu Bordizzo (The Society), Oliver Masucci (The Swarm), Steve Howey (Shameless), and C.S. Lee (Dexter).

I’m just curious to see how Adkins is utilized here as John Wick helmer Chad Stahelski is producing the film along with Jason Spitz via the 87Eleven Entertainment production banner. I’m positive Adkins will dazzle with his trademark action because of who’s involved behind the camera.

The above video shows off intense, raw footage and we get a good look at some of the vampires that look downright evil and grotesque at the same time. Another draw for me is that they’re using practical stunts and effects just like in the 80’s and 90’s so it’ll have that throwback feel to it as well.

Day Shift prepares for unholy combat on Netflix on August 12!
