Umbrella Entertainment Unleashes the Ultimate MEGAFORCE Special Edition Blu-Ray! Are You Man Enough?

By: John M Jerva

It’s no secret nor do I hide the fact that the 1982 vehicular warfare movie also known as Megaforce is one of my ultimate guilty pleasures from that decade. Filled with incredibly cheesy dialogue, outlandish uniforms and some of the most awesome combat ready vehicles and vehicular stunt work ever captured on film, this movie is the quintessential highlight of my youth.

Barry Bostwick as Ace Hunter was the man and we all wanted to be him and Michael Beck as his sidekick Dallas made for an unbeatable duo to compliment the bad assery action sequences that the movie offered. Featuring a stellar performance from Henry Silva as Guerera who was the antagonist and lifelong friend of Ace’s which added some humorous nuance to the plot, this movie defied all logic and common sense and is one of the greatest cult classics ever.

The fine folks over at Umbrella Entertainment think so too as they are readying an ultimate special edition Blu-Ray box set including the movie, a vast array of special features as well as some kick ass collectibles including a hat and more. Check out the pictures and official info below!

COLLECTOR’S EDITION LIMITED TO ONLY 250!

This cult classic Collector’s Edition comes storming into the Beyond Genres collection with A3 reversible poster, embroidered cap, 8x poster postcards, holographic sticker, membership card and exclusive extras!

Did you miss out on the Official Megaforce Membership Kit that was advertised on the back of comics in 1982? Our Collector’s Edition is inspired by the Official Megaforce Membership Kit!

Megaforce was a direct inspiration for Matt Stone & Trey Parker (South Park) in making Team America: World Police. With Trey Parker quoted on camera saying“That was a sweet movie!”.

Megaforce was also made with assistance from Mattel who produced a range of Megaforce Hot Wheels vehicles. These models went on to be the basis for many different vehicles and the Enforcer model is still used today.

Megaforce wasn’t commercially successful when it first came out but, over time, has silently crept into our hearts and become a cult classic bucking the R rated 80s action movies of the time.

Megaforce is an elite multi-national military unit that does the jobs that individual governments wont. When the peaceful Republic of Sardun in under threat from their more aggressive neighbour the beautiful Major Zara and General Byrne-White see the help of Ace Hunter and Megaforce.
