Debuting this weekend along with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was the long-awaited trailer to the even more long-awaited sequel Avatar: The Way of Water which hails once again from celebrated filmmaker James Cameron. The newly released trailer gives fans just a brief tease of what is to come with the newest adventure in the blockbuster franchise. There’s no shortage of 3D visuals and Cameron’s high frame rate to show off the striking visuals and even if the trailer is a little underwhelming, I feel that they wanted to show as little as possible while at the same time giving audiences a brief taste. Even though, the first trailer was anti-climatic, there is no mistaking Cameron’s flair for all things visual and storytelling. Check out the new footage below as we return to Pandora!

Official Synopsis: Set more than a decade after the events of the first film, “Avatar: The Way of Water” begins to tell the story of the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri, and their kids), the trouble that follows them, the lengths they go to keep each other safe, the battles they fight to stay alive, and the tragedies they endure. Directed by James Cameron and produced by Cameron and Jon Landau, the film stars Zoe Saldana, Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Cliff Curtis, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Edie Falco, Jemaine Clement and Kate Winslet.

Avatar: The Way of Water sets its course for sci-fi adventure on a grand scale when it opens in theatres on December 16th.
