There’s more news coming out the upcoming EFM as The Exchange is bringing the recently announced action-thriller Lights Out to the event for potential buyers. The Christian Sesma (Every Last One of Them) helmed project sees action film favorite Frank Grillo teaming up with equally popular Scott Adkins in a gritty underground fight film that is being described as Roadhouse meets Kickboxer. If that’s not a selling point then I don’t know what is. You had me at Grillo and Adkins.

Per Screen Daily: Lights Out is described as a modern-day Roadhouse meets Kickboxer and takes place in the seedy underbelly of Los Angeles.

Christian Sesma is directing the project from a screenplay by Garry Charles and Chad Law. Production is underway with Brandon Burrows of Firebrand serving as producer.

Grillo and Adkins will star along with Mekhi Phifer (Truth Be Told) and Dermot Mulroney (Section Eight, Hanna). The film is currently ramping up production so unfortunately, we have a little bit of a wait for this one to reach the finish line but it’s on the tippy top of my must see radar now.

I don’t know about you, but that plotline is right in my wheelhouse and here’s hoping that both Grillo and Adkins will be able to let loose their lethal and unforgiving skill set on some unfortunate baddies. To sweeten this announcement, Lights Out was penned by the one and only Chad Law (Daylight’s End, Section Eight) along with Garry Charles (Welcome To Acapulco).
