Update: Netflix has unloaded more brand new images for the sequel film Fistful of Vengeance. The new pics show off Uwais, Tan and more so expect a trailer to hit soon!

(Original Post) Netflix made martial arts action enthusiasts very happy when they announced that they were going to deliver a sequel movie to the martial arts infused series Wu Assassains. Aptly titled Fistful of Vengeance, we now have a release date as Lewis Tan unveiled a bloody pic of himself from the follow up with the quote Feb 17th… we take it to another level. Check it out as Tan promises that it’ll take it to the next level!

Fistful of Vengeance sees Iko Uwais return as Kai with the official synopsis reading: A revenge mission becomes a fight to save the world from an ancient threat when superpowered assassin Kai tracks a killer to Bangkok.

Along with Uwais and Tan, Lawrence Kao, and JuJu Chan Szeto also return for the movie while new cast additions include Pearl Thusi, Francesca Corney, Warrior’s Jason Tobin, and Rhatha Phongam to round it out.

Roel Reiné (Redbad, Hard Target 2) helmed the follow up. The series debuted in 2019 on the streaming service and many had been led to believe that the show was one and done but now with the upcoming movie ready to strike, it was also reported a while back that Netflix is still open to a possible second season and/or more films in the franchise. Cameron Litvack, Jessica Chou, and Yalun, who all penned the first season, returned to write the film with Living Films producing.

The official synopsis for Fistful of Vengeance reads: Fistful of Vengeance will find the Wu Assassins reuniting in Bangkok to avenge the death of one of their own. They soon discover, however, that their new adversary is an ancient threat with otherworldly powers.

The original 10 episode first season arc saw Uwais starring as a warrior who is chosen as the latest and last Wu Assassin and must search for the powers of an ancient triad and restore balance in San Francisco’s Chinatown.

The show included some jaw dropping fight choreography and was a hit with genre fans. Uwais is a talent that elevates any project he’s in and always brings a fresh and sweat inducing feel to his fight scenes that are hyperkinetic.

Hopefully we get a bone smashing trailer debut soon and when we do, you’ll find it here as we are your destination for everything action in 2022 and beyond!

In the meantime, watch Iko Uwais and Byron Mann go at it from the first season with a little Mark Dacascos thrown in for good measure!
