Here we go again with the release date musical chairs. This time courtesy of STXfilms, the company has shifted launch dates for two of its action offerings for next year. Guy Ritchie’s Operation Fortune: Ruse De Guerre starring Jason Statham and The Contractor with Chris Pine are moving deeper into spring 2022.

First up, Operation Fortune: Ruse de guerre was supposed to hit on January 21, 2022, but it will now be released on March 18, 2022. The film stars Statham along with Josh Hartnett (30 Days of Night) who also appeared with Statham in Wrath of Manas well as Aubrey Plaza (Ingrid Goes West), Cary Elwes (The Princess Bride), British rapper Bugzy Malone and Hugh Grant.

Super spy Orson Fortune (Jason Statham) must track down and stop the sale of a deadly new weapons technology wielded by billionaire arms broker Greg Simmonds (Hugh Grant). Reluctantly teamed with some of the world’s best operatives (Aubrey Plaza, Cary Elwes, Bugzy Malone), Fortune and his crew recruit Hollywood’s biggest movie star Danny Francesco (Josh Hartnett) to help them on their globe-trotting undercover mission to save the world.

Finally, The Contractor, which was originally called Violence of Action, was at first set to release on March 18, 2022, but has been switched to April 1, 2022. The movie stars Chris Pine as well as Ben Foster and Jack Bauer himself Keifer Sutherland.

The Contractor centers on James Harper (Pine), who is involuntarily discharged from the U.S. Special Forces, then joining a private contracting organization alongside his best friend (Foster) and under the command of a fellow veteran (Kiefer Sutherland) in order to support his family. Overseas on a covert mission, Harper must evade those trying to kill him while making his way back home.

The trailer for The Contractor will probably hit next month so stay tuned.
