Today sees the release of the relentless and hard hitting indie action film The Handler which hails from director, producer and writer Michael Matteo Rossi. The film stars Chris Levine as a former soldier named Ryker Dune who must fight his way through a gauntlet of trained mercenaries when he purposefully tanks a job angering the wrath of a ruthless mob boss. Besieged by highly trained killers at every turn, Dune must call on every lethal skill in his arsenal to survive the day that is littered with bullets and hand to hand CQB battles. This is a prime example of an indie filmmaker making something out of nothing and with limited resources, Rossi has crafted a brutal and unforgiving love letter to throwback action films of the 80’s and 90’s with a new action star on the rise in Chris Levine.

Ryker is a recently returned to home vet who is struggling for money to take care of his wife and child. He gets in touch with Vinnie, a mob boss, who helps him, but Ryker soon wants out and when Vinnie doesn’t allow it. Ryker purposely throws a job and Vinnie seeks to take Ryker out in any way possible.
The Handler was written and directed by Michael Matteo Rossi (Chase, Misogynist).
Chris Levine (No Way Out, “Charlie’s Angels”) headlines an electrifying cast that also includes YouTube personality Tyrone Magnus, Rachel Alig (Digging to Death), Jazsmin Lewis (the Barbershopfranchise) Cathy Baron (“Justified”), Matt Erdems (Checkmate), Michael Pashan (No Loose Ends), and Adam Carbone (“Gotham”).
