MORBIUS: New Key Art Announces the Birth of a New Marvel Legend

By: John M Jerva

Morbius has been one of the those films that should have been released five times already but current situations of course have delayed it until January. Jared Leto stars as the titular anti-hero who first premiered in the pages of Marvel comic books and will now finally see the live treatment come next month.

A new poster has just dropped that teases the arrival of a new legend so check out Leto below on both human form and full on vampire warrior!

One of Marvel’s most compelling and conflicted characters comes to the big screen as Oscar® winner Jared Leto transforms into the enigmatic antihero Michael Morbius. Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder and determined to save others suffering his same fate, Dr. Morbius attempts a desperate gamble. While at first it seems to be a radical success, a darkness inside him is unleashed. Will good override evil – or will Morbius succumb to his mysterious new urges?

Helmed by Daniel Espinosa from a story and screenplay by Matt Sazama & Burk Sharpless, Morbius also stars Matt Smith Adria Arjona Jared Harris Al Madrigal and Tyrese Gibson.

The newest tease that dropped last month definitely peeks my curiosity and I love the cinematic references as we see an image of Spider-Man on the side of a wall. Leto even name drops Venom at the end of the trailer so it definitely looks like these characters are merging which will be enticing for fanboys. It’ll be interesting to see if Sony can jumpstart their Marvel universe once again after failing after their last Spider-Man film with Andrew Garfield.

A new clip also has surfaced which gives fans more of a taste of what’s to come when the movie finally hits theaters.

Morbius, which has been delayed many times due to COVID, is finally going to see a release this January on the 28th so get ready for the next Marvel legend to crash the party.
