Christmas is coming! Over the weekend, action star Jason Statham shared some high-octane BTS pics of his big showdown with co-star Iko Uwais. The internet proceeded to go into a frenzy as this installment is looking like it’ll undo the past failure that is Expendables 3. The images were immediately gobbled up by action fans and was the talk of the day. I was excited before but now I’m officially hyped for this next entry in the throwback action franchise.
What’s better than pictures? Well it’s actual video of Statham and Uwais on set throwing down in their epic altercation in the fourth film. Check out Statham’s Instagram post below which gives you a little sampling of what to expect when the movie unloads next year!
From the short 42 second video, we get to see brief footage of the hyper-kinetic throw down between the two action heavyweights and some dazzling knife and weapons handling as well. One thing is definite and that this fight will surely be a showstopper in the franchise. Statham has been very busy sharing on set videos and pics do it looks like he’s reassuring fans that this installment will be worth the wait.
We also get to see Statham unleash some blades of fury on some stuntmen as well which probably leads up to the climatic finale with Uwais. It certainly looks like Lee Christmas, who is known for being a knife fighting craftsman, is going to utilize some major knife skills and CQB action in this entry.
Plot details are non existent right now but we do know that Uwais will be playing the lead villain in the newest entry of the blockbuster action franchise. It’s also well known that Statham is taking command this time after Stallone has essentially passed the torch to him. It makes sense with these images that the two will go head to head. There’s no doubt it’ll be one amazing display of fisticuffs.
Stallone is back with Jason Statham, Randy Couture and Dolph Lundgren as the original cast. Other new additions include Megan Fox, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Andy Garcia. International action stars Tony Jaa and Iko Uwais also have roles with the latter playing the main villain.
Stunt pro Scott Waugh takes over in the director’s chair and he helms from a script penned by Spenser Cohen with current revisions turned in by Max Adams and John Joseph Connolly.
Keep it locked and loaded right here for more updates to come as the next Expendables film is officially filming!
