UPDATE: According to the site VideoETA, The Scott Adkins led single take action epic One Shot is set to hit Blu-Ray and DVD on December 7th. This happens to be three days till my birthday so I know what birthday present I’m getting for myself. Stay tuned for Digital and VOD info which will probably hit this November along with key art and first look footage!
In this intense, non-stop action-thriller, relentlessly filmed in a single continuous take, an elite squad of Navy SEALs on a covert mission to transport a prisoner off a CIA black site island prison is trapped when insurgents attack, trying to rescue the same prisoner. Led by Lieutenant Blake Harris (Scott Adkins), the team, including Deputy Site Manager Tom Shields (Ryan Phillippe), must trust the secret intel of Junior Analyst Zoe Anderson (Ashley Greene) in order to deliver the prisoner and thwart a pending terrorist attack on Washington D.C.
(Original Post) Screen Media has taken to social media to announce that the Scott Adkins led action offering, the one take military action-thriller One Shot, will hit this November. To entice all you Adkins fans out there in the meantime, there’s another teaser poster that has been making the rounds which you can see below!
Screen Media Films acquired the upcoming single take action-thriller a while back which hails from director James Nunn and stars an eclectic action cast including Ryan Phillippe. This one is on my must watch list at the highest level and it includes the two best things I look for in a movie…Navy SEALS and Scott Adkins! Check out the post below!
Per Variety: Filmed, “Birdman” style, in a single continuous take, the aptly named “One Shot” follows an elite squad of Navy SEALs on a covert mission to transport a prisoner off a CIA black site island prison. They become trapped when insurgents attack in an effort to rescue the same prisoner. Led by Lieutenant Blake Harris (Adkins), the team, including Deputy Site Manager Tom Shields (Phillippe), must trust the secret intel of Junior Analyst Zoe Anderson (Greene Khoury) in order to deliver the prisoner and thwart a pending terrorist attack on Washington D.C.
The film also stars Ashley Greene Khoury and this is the third time Adkins has worked with Nunn also starring in Green Street Hooligans: Never Back Down and Eliminators all of which Nunn helmed. Veteran action maestro Tim Man, who has collaborated with Scott on numerous action projects like Triple Threat and Accident Man serves up the action sequences once again and there was no room for error this time out as editing was scarce to say the least.
The script was penned by Jamie Russell and it’s a very ambitious undertaking where the film is shot “oner” style or one continuous take without edits and it unfolds in real time. The action set pieces will definitely be the draw here and hopefully Adkins will combine both Gun Fu and Kung Fu in this one. Stay tuned as a trailer is on its way along with a concrete date for deployment!
