Do you remember the time that Batman took on The Punisher? I sure do but unfortunately it wasn’t the dream matchup in the literal sense but Ben Affleck did throw down with Jon Bernthal on the sleeper hit The Accountant.
The movie featured Affleck as high functioning math savant Christian Wolff who secretly worked for the world’s most lethal criminal organizations under the guise of a regular accountant. Wolff was also a lethal assassin as well who eliminated a cast majority of targets over the years. When Wolff takes on a case for a robotics company led by John Lithgow, there’s more to it then meets the eye sending him on a collision course with his estranged brother (Bernthal) and deadly assassins who have been tasked with taking him down.

O’Connor recently spoke to the CinemaBlend podcast where he confirmed that a sequel was pretty much a done deal. He also brought the good word that Affleck was set to return and although Bernthal wasn’t confirmed, his quote included him for the next storyline.
“We are doing an Accountant sequel. We literally just closed that deal. We’re doing The Accountant again…I’ve always wanted to do three because what, the second one’s going to be more with — we’re going to integrate his brother into the story. So there’ll be more screen time for Jon Bernthal in the second one. And then the third movie’s going to be, I call it, ‘Rain Man on steroids.’ The third movie is going to be the two brothers, this odd couple. The third one is going be a buddy picture.”
The Accountant was one of those action-thrillers that seemingly came out of nowhere and Affleck gave an outstanding performance as Wolff in both the dramatic and violent action fueled sequences. The action was furious and the finale an action lover’s dream as Affleck’s Wolff went into one man army mode in a blistering firefight.
There was a time when it was talked about making a TV series out of the film but it looks like that has changed once again into a feature film.
No other info is available except for what O’Connor gave us so keep it locked and loaded right here for more details to come!
