Jason Statham has been many things in his movie career but I’m pretty sure a bee keeper hasn’t been one of them. That’s right folks! Get ready for Jason Statham…Bee Keeper, armed to kill!

Deadline broke the word today as Statham has enlisted for the unusual action/thriller which teams him up with Miramax for a third time and word has it, the film company put out a massive seven figures for it.

Per Deadline: The Bee Keeper is a lightning-paced thriller deeply steeped in the mythology of Bee Keeping. Miramax is currently searching for a director. Statham, Kurt Wimmer and Miramax CEO Bill Block are set to produce.

The film was penned by Kurt Wimmer who is best known for directing Equilibrium, One Tough Bastard and Ultraviolet and it is projected to shoot in London and Atlanta in September of next year.

“The Bee Keeper explores universal themes with an unconventional story that will have fans sitting on the edge of their seats. We’re excited to bring another iconic and irresistible film to audiences around the globe,” said Block.

Statham’s other Miramax endeavors have been this year’s awesome Wrath Of Man and the upcoming untitled second project with director Guy Ritchie. This one definitely sounds like a different film for The Stath and I’m eagerly awaiting the plot synopsis on this one. I don’t care if it’s about Statham going after thugs who stole his bee hives just as long as he delivers the anticipated amount of ass whippings.
