I’ve said in the past that Phase IV of the MCU is definitely going to be interesting to watch as well as see how it’s received as many of the properties that are a part of the next wave of films are even lesser known then some in the previous twenty plus films.
Case in point, we have Shang-Chi dropping in a month and while it’s receiving good word of mouth from early screenings, this is a throw of the dice for Marvel. Another title is The Eternals which has one bigger advantage in that there’s some heavy hitters in the cast most notably Angelina Jolie.
A third and final trailer has hit for The Eternals which is extended and shows off even more courage to go along with the epic and grand scale feel of it. Check it out below!
Marvel Studios’ “Eternals” welcomes an exciting new team of Super Heroes to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The epic story, spanning thousands of years, features a group of immortal heroes forced out of the shadows to reunite against mankind’s oldest enemy, The Deviants. The outstanding ensemble cast includes Richard Madden as the all-powerful Ikaris, Gemma Chan as humankind-loving Sersi, Kumail Nanjiani as cosmic-powered Kingo, Lauren Ridloff as the super-fast Makkari, Brian Tyree Henry as the intelligent inventor Phastos, Salma Hayek as the wise and spiritual leader Ajak, Lia McHugh as the eternally young, old-soul Sprite, Don Lee as the powerful Gilgamesh, Barry Keoghan as aloof loner Druig, and Angelina Jolie as the fierce warrior Thena. Kit Harington plays Dane Whitman.
I think at this point, Marvel is somewhat bulletproof but recent controversies and a slate of lesser known properties will surely make for an interesting Phase IV. Marvel head Kevin Feige has certainly been on damage control as of late so the future is up in the air. Are you excited? Sound off and let me know.
Helmed by Chloe Zhao, the all star cast includes Angelina Jolie, Kumail Nanjiani, Gemma Chan, Richard Madden, Brian Tyree Henry, Kit Harrington, and Salma Hayek.
Marvel’s Eternals hits theatres November 5th, 2021.
