Well I just wished a very happy birthday to my man Jason Statham and now it’s time to let the ladies represent as the one and only Ms. Kate Beckinsale shares a birthday with The Stath. Yes it’s true that Beckinsale’s filmography of action hits only includes mostly one character but when it’s Selene the death dealer then that’s good enough for me.

Beckinsale is one of those rare actresses that looks just as fine kicking ass as she does just standing in a room. The Underworld movies are a great addition to the realm of action and Beckinsale boldly shows us that she’s more than just a pretty face.

It’s fitting that we celebrate her birthday today as she has just released a new movie on Amazon Prime called Jolt which is a gleeful mixture of raw action and dark humor. Maybe this one will turn into a franchise like Underworld because I would love to see more of Lindy in the future.

For Kate’s birthday, however, it’s got to be a sequence from Underworld as this is the first movie that introduced her as an action star. It’s also one of the first action set pieces of the film so it’s even more fitting. Beckinsale looks amazing as she unloads double automatic pistols John Woo style and with this scene, Selene was born.
