News of a Suicide Squad spin-off centered around John Cena’s character of Peacemaker sent fans into a tizzy during DC FanDome this past Summer. The series will feature Cena as the comic book anti-hero which he will be playing in the soft reboot film being directed by James Gunn.

Now we have some casting news coming out of Deadline and it appears that the Terminator himself Robert Patrick will be joint the cast as Auggie Smith. Other new additions include Steve Agee as John Economos, Danielle Brooks as Leota Adebayo and Chris Conrad as Vigilante/Adrian Chase. Jennifer Holland will also be reprising her role from THE SUICIDE SQUAD as Emilia Harcourt.

It was also announced that the series will feature eight episodes and Gunn will write all of them and will also direct the premiere entry.

In the comics, Peacemaker is a “a man who believes in peace at any cost — no matter how many people he has to kill to get it.” The action-comedy will explore the origins of The Peacemaker and Cena will serve as an executive producer along with Gunn and Peter Safran who is also a producer on The Suicide Squad.

Production is set for early next year ahead of the August 6th release date of the Suicide Squad film so expect big things for DC next year and get ready because Peacemaker is coming!
