It’s only 15 seconds long but it is definitely the best thing you’ll see all day as a new teaser has dropped for Willy’s Wonderland which features Nicolas Cage, who will also be seen in Jiu Jitsu this month, battling it out with demonic animatronics. It’s short and sweet and we have it for you below courtesy of Screen Media who’ll be releasing it.

The Janitor (Cage) finds himself stranded in a remote town. Unable to pay the repair shop to fix his Jeep, he agrees to work off his debt by spending the night cleaning Willy’s Wonderland, an abandoned theme park full of animatronic characters that were once a beacon of fun for children to play with.

“But Willy’s Wonderland carries a dark secret that The Janitor is about to discover. He’s been lured into a deadly trap, or rather, a living nightmare, as the Wonderland’s animatronic characters come to life to destroy him. The Janitor is forced to fight his way from one monster to another, trying to survive until morning.

“And The Janitor doesn’t play nice.

The film is helmed by Kevin Lewis from a script penned by G.O. Parsons with a supporting cast that includes Emily Tosta (Party of Five), Beth Grant (No Country For Old Men), Ric Reitz (The Resident) and Chris Warner (Machete).

I don’t know about you but watching Nic Cage take on psychotic animatronic killing machines sounds like a great way to spend a weekend night. Cage takes chances and for the most part, it delivers so I can’t wait for a more extended trailer and release date for this one.

Director Kevin Lewis also sat down with Entertainment Weekly and talked about making a film that threw it back to the crazy horror flicks of the 80’s like Evil Dead. Lewis describes the movie as “a fun, wacky, crazy rollercoaster ride.” He went on to say “I grew up with Sam Raimi and Evil Dead and those kinds of fun ‘80s horror and action horror films. This was made — and I truly mean this — this was made by a fanboy for all the fanboys and -girls. A producer friend of mine, Jeremy Davis, brought me the project, and we both fell in love with it. We worked on it, we got Nic attached, he really fell in love with the project, and saw our vision of it, and we got it going. Nic’s been a fantastic partner on this movie. It’s vintage Nic. He just brings so much to this movie. I think people are going to really dig it.”

Willy’s Wonderland is set to unleash in select cinemas, Digital and VOD sometime in 2021 so check out the bloody good time below as Cage dukes it out with some insane animatronic hellions!
