Hot off his performance in Netflix’s Project Power, Jamie Foxx is set time headline and executive produce a new Vampire Hunter thriller titled Day Shift. John Wick’s Chad Stahelski is set to produce the film for Netflix through his 87Eleven Entertainment production banner.

Per The Wrap: In “Day Shift,” Foxx stars as a hard-working, blue-collar dad who wants to provide for his 8-year-old daughter — but his regular job cleaning pools in the San Fernando Valley is just a front for his real source of income: hunting and killing vampires.

‘“Day Shift’ is a pulse-pounding thrill ride with action, danger and grounded comedy mixed with a deep mythology, the key ingredients for the absolute best time you can have watching a movie,” producer Shaun Redick said. “We couldn’t be more excited about producing this at Netflix with Jamie Foxx starring!”

Veteran martial artist and Hollywood stunt maestro JJ Perry will make his directorial debut with the film which was penned by Shay Hatten (John Wick 3 & 4, Army of the Dead). With Perry at the helm and Stahelski producing, the action set pieces should be a joy to watch and hopefully 87Eleven Action Design will bring it as they usually do.

Stahelski stated, “I’ve known and worked with JJ for a long time. His unique vision of ‘Day Shift’ makes it such a great first directorial project for him.”

Netflix has really been upping the game in the action department with their other recent hits like 6 Underground, Extraction, The Old Guard and Project Power which of course also starred Foxx. This one is definitely on my radar. It was also recently announced that Foxx would be reprising his role of Electro for Spider-Man 3.
