Some exciting news for fans of both Gerard Butler and Frank Grillo is bringing word that the two action genre stars are set to team up for a new action-thriller from director Joe Carnahan titled COPSHOP. The film will be distributed by the newly relaunched Open Roads Films Bamber. STXInternational will handle all foreign distribution of the film as well.
Per THR: Copshop sees a small-town police station becomes the unlikely battleground between a professional hitman (Butler), a smart rookie female cop, and a double-crossing con man (Grillo), who seeks refuge behind bars with no place left to run.

The film which was penned by Kurt McLeod will commence principle photography in October in Georgia and New Mexico with STX selling the film to potential buyers at the Virtual Toronto International Film Festival.
With Butler and Grillo attaches, this sounds like action cinema gold so sign me up. Butler is working on many projects including more installments of the Has Fallen franchise as well as a sequel to Den of Thieves. This film reunites Grillo with his War Party Productions partner Joe Carnahan as the two have the upcoming Boss Level hopefully coming out sometime soon. These gentlemen are two of my favorite action stars so seeing them take out multiple assailants in one film has me excited to say the least.
Stay tuned and keep it locked and loaded right here for more to come!
