RE:BORN: Tak Sakaguchi’s Brutal CQB Action Epic Makes its Long Awaited Debut on North American Blu-Ray this Tuesday!

All good things to those who wait. No truer words have ever been spoken if you are one of the many who have been waiting very patiently to see international action star Tak Sakaguchi’s brutal action masterpiece Re:Born. The film has been available on Blu-Ray and DVD overseas for months but the film has never received the home video treatment here in the U.S. although it was released on the Shudder streaming service last year.

I finally got the chance to see the movie when it premiered on Shudder back in November and it stars martial arts sensation Tak as he is known to his legions of fans in a brutal and bloody action epic that delivers a new breed of military style combat onscreen where our anti-hero takes on many to save the life of an innocent girl. The movie has been praised for its sensational fight sequences and Tak is at his absolute best as he carves up a path of death and destruction.

The wait is over as Shudder is finally releasing the film on Blu-Ray and Digital this Tuesday, July 21st and the movie is up now on Amazon.com for pre-order if you don’t belive me. Take a look at the cover art below which shows off Tak ready to strike.

Official Synopsis: Toshiro, a former special forces operative, now lives a quiet life in the Japanese countryside. Despite his seemingly peaceful existence, Toshiro struggles to contain the destructive impulses that once made him the top soldier in an elite unit of killers. But when his former commanding officer, the enigmatic Phantom, comes out of the shadows seeking revenge, Toshiro goes on a kill crazy rampage against a squad of ruthless assassins.

Helmed by Yuji Shimomura, the film also stars Takumi Saito, Mariko Shinoda, Yura Kondo, and Akio Otsuka. I have done numerous posts for this pic on my old platform as well as this new one and I will definitely be picking up my copy to do a full review of the film finally as it is barbaric and ferocious in its action. I meant to do a piece on it last year but was unable to so now is the time to do it and celebrate the release of the picture on Blu-Ray.

In the meantime, while you order it from Amazon, check out an action drenched clip that I shared on The Action Fix last Fall as well as the official Shudder release trailer and witness the birth of a new breed of violent hero! I also did an article on why the film needed a proper release here in the U.S. which you can view here and it looks like my pleas have been answered by Shudder of all companies who are known for being a Horror site. Enjoy!
