With the recent COVID-19 crisis delaying anything and everything in the film and TV industry, we have some good news from Jon Favreau who says that the second season of Disney+’s The Mandalorian is on track for an October premiere!
Favreau made the wondrous announcement via The Hollywood Reporter by saying “We were lucky enough to have finished photography before the lock down. Thanks to how technology-forward Lucasfilm and ILM are, we have been able to do all of our visual effects and editing and postproduction remotely through systems that had been set up by those companies for us.”
I’ll wait for the cheers and applause to die down now…OK, lets continue. The new season has been making a buzz after all the casting announcements for the sophomore season of the first ever and awesome Star Wars series. The new cast additions, if you didn’t already know, include Rosario Dawson, Timothy Olyphant, Temuera Morrison and Michael Biehn who I was able to meet at last year’s NYCC.
Robert Rodriguez was also announced as a director of an episode so expect bigger and better things from the new season including the iconic return of bounty hunter Boba Fett which will be played by Morrison.
Plot details, like all this Star Wars projects before they’re released, a locked up tight do hopefully with the news that the season is coming this fall, we will get our first footage soon!
Keep it locked and loaded right here for more to come on The Mandalorian as we are your source for everything action!!!
