UPDATE: Ruby Rose has finally posted a statement on social media in regards to her surprising exit from The CW’s Batwoman along with a video showcasing her time as the DC superhero. Check it out below!

(Original Post) In a shocking turn of events this morning, it is being reported that star Ruby Rose is exciting The CW’s Batwoman. The star sent out a long statement in regards to the matter which you can read below.

I have made the very difficult decision to not return to Batwoman next season,” Rose said. “This was not a decision I made lightly as I have the utmost respect for the cast, crew and everyone involved with the show in both Vancouver and in Los Angeles. I am beyond appreciative to Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and Caroline Dries for not only giving me this incredible opportunity, but for welcoming me into the DC universe they have so beautifully created. Thank you Peter Roth and Mark Pedowitz and the teams at Warner Bros. and The CW who put so much into the show and always believed in me. Thank you to everyone who made season one a success — I am truly grateful.

With the announcement, The CW is now scrambling to find a replacement for her which will have to happen soon as production is set to stars as soon as the Greenlight is given to once again rev up Hollywood after the shutdown in March due to the pandemic.

Warner Bros. Television, The CW and Berlanti Productions thank Ruby for her contributions to the success of our first season and wish her all the best,” The CW, WBTV and Berlanti Productions said in a joint statement. “The studio and network are firmly committed to Batwoman’s second season and long-term future, and we — along with the show’s talented creative team — look forward to sharing its new direction, including the casting of a new lead actress and member of the LGBTQ community, in the coming months.

You may remember that Rose took a lot of flack when she was cast which was totally ridiculous and just shows how wrong fans can be in certain situations.

What makes it even harder for The CW is that Batwoman would have teamed up with Superman & Lois for a crossover event and that the shows would anchor its Sunday night lineup.

The report is also saying that Rose had always planned to leave after the 22 episode first season but it’s unclear how the season finale would have gone down due to the final two episodes not getting finished due to the shutdown.

Keep it locked and loaded right here for more on this developing situation.
