I was expecting this and I’m waiting for Top Gun: Maverick to get the boot any day but Variety is reporting that Sony Pictures is delaying their Marvel Comics Adaptation Morbius and more films until next year at the earliest.
According to the report, Morbius which stars Jared Leto, has been pushed from its initial July 31st release date to March 19th of next year. Ghostbusters: Afterlife will now hit cinemas on March 5th from its initial July 10th release of this year.
All these moves are because of the pandemic plaguing the world right now and studios don’t expect theaters to open until late summer or even later. Paramount hadn’t moved Top Gun as of yet but with a June release, expect to hear word very soon that the anticipated sequel will be delayed as well.
If anything, at least this will allow me to catch up on all the films that I haven’t seen yet and focus on direct to video or streaming films. Extraction starring Chris Hemsworth is one that I want yo see and I know I’ll be able to because it hits Netflix in April.
Keep it locked and loaded right here for more depressing news to come.
