VFW: The All Out Action-Horror Hit with Stephen Lang Hits VHS this Tuesday!

By: John M Jerva

Director Joe Begos (Bliss) hit the bullseye earlier this year with his newest throwback 80’s action-horror hit VFW which stars Stephen Lang and a host of 80’s and 90’s action talent in the likes of William Sadler, Martin Kove and Fred “The Hammer” Williamson.

The film which tells the story of a group of vets who give it their all to defend their beloved VFW from a gang of drugged up mutant killers was a thing of blood splattering beauty when it hit select cinemas and Digital a few months back.

Now comes word via Broke Horror Fan.com that the film is set to hit VHS this coming Tuesday! That’s right folks you heard it right. VFW is being released on limited edition, fully functional VHS this Tuesday from WitterEntertainment.com.

Each tape will come in special black clamshell packaging and include some pretty sweet extras and will be cropped from its original aspect ratio to 4:3 full frame for the ultimate VHS viewing.

Described as “THE WILD BUNCH meets NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD,” the movie tells the story of “A group of war veterans who must defend their local VFW post and an innocent teen against a deranged drug dealer and his relentless army of punk mutants. These Vietnam vets have been to hell and back, but this will be the longest night of their lives.”

Also starring are George Wendt, David Patrick Kelly, Tom Williamson, Sierra McCormick, Travis Hammer, and Dora Madison.

I was able to view the film upon its initial release and served up my Action-Flix Approved review of it which you can read here! https://action-flix.com/2020/02/17/review-vfw-is-the-perfect-blend-of-80s-style-gore-and-vhs-era-action/
