MORBIUS: Jared Leto is the Iconic Comic Book Vampire on the New Poster for the Upcoming Sony Adaptation

By: John M Jerva

The jury is still out on whether we are actually going to have a summer movie season and last week saw, for the first time in history, no theatrical revenue as all cinemas have closed due to the Coronavirus outbreak.

We are still remaining positive and Sony Pictures has unveiled a new poster for their upcoming live action Morbius film based on the Marvel Comic Book. Check out star Jared Leto below in all his glory!

In the adaptation, Leto stars as biochemist Michael Morbius who, in an attempt to cure his rare blood disease, made himself into a living vampire. The anti-hero has taken on Spider-Man numerous times before becoming more of the anti-hero as he got his own line of books.

The film also stars Matt Smith (Doctor Who) as Loxias Crown, Adria Arjona (Good Omens) as Martine Bancroft, Emmy nominee Jared Harris (The Crown) as Morbius’ mentor, and Tyrese Gibson of Fast and the Furious fame, who will play the role of an FBI agent. Michael Keaton also looks to be reprising his role of Adrian Toomes aka The Vulture as he was the big reveal at the end of the trailer that dropped a while back. Daniel Espinosa helms the flick.

It will be interesting to see how Sony plays out this whole shared universe with Tom Hardy’s Venom and Tom Holland’s Spidey who is still in the MCU. The smart thing to do of course is to have all three in a movie but time will tell.

Morbius still as of now has a release date set for July 31st but we all know that can change with the unknown future at hand. Keep it locked and loaded right here for more developments!
