I don’t think this will stay as it is right now but The Hollywood Reporter is bringing word that two Keanu Reeves’ movies are set to release on the same day as THE MATRIX 4 and JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 4 as of now are releasing on May 21st, 2021. The news comes as Warner Bros. released a big slate of release dates which also included the long delayed THE FLASH solo outing.

I just don’t see both of these highly anticipated films which stars Reeves will ultimately hit on that day as it will clearly damage the box office results for one or both. Warner Bros. knew that John Wick 4 was already marked for that day so I’m assuming they are thinking that Lionsgate will bulk at the situation and change the release for Baba Yaga’s fourth outing.

Reeves is set to reprise his iconic role of Neo for the fourth MATRIX film which also brings back his co-star Carrie Anne-Moss. Also starring are Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Carrie-Anne Moss, Neil Patrick Harris and Jada Pinkett Smith. This leads me to believe that Reeves will probably play a smaller role in that film as he has to film both movies but only time will tell on that front.

Warner Bros. also brought word that THE FLASH will hit theaters on July 22nd, 2022 with Ezra Miller reportedly still set to return as the Scarlet Speedster but that DC solo film has suffered in development hell but with a release date set hopefully things will start to move soon.

I also reported yesterday that Warner Bros. has moved up the release for MORTAL KOMBAT which will now be unleashed 7 weeks earlier on Martin Luther Jing, Jr. weekend. The film was at one time set to hit on March 5th, 2021 but it will now bow on January 15th.

This is all very interesting so keep it locked and loaded right here as I’m sure things will probably change in regards to THE MATRIX and JOHN WICK. Stay tuned!
