The New International Poster for STAR WARS EPISODE IX: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER Brings Out the Nostalgia for the Original Trilogy!

By: John M Jerva

It is certainly new poster day here at Action-Flix as Lucasfilm and Disney have launched a brand new international one sheet for the highly anticipated Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker which will bring an end to the saga started by the original film in 1977. The new poster is epic looking to say the least and it brings on the nostalgic look from the original posters for the first three films. Daisey Ridley, wielding her lighsaber as Rey, is front and center and she is joined by the entire cast as well. Take a look at the power of the Force below!

The plot is still being kept under wraps but we have a lot more new footage to feast our eyes at! Returning key cast members include Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Kelly Marie Tran, Joonas Suotamo and Billie Lourd. New additions include Naomi Ackie (Doctor Who), Richard E. Grant (Logan), Dominic Monaghan (Lord of the Rings), and Keri Russell (The Americans). Veteran icons Mark Hamill and Billy Dee Williams (who I saw live at NYCC!) return as well along with the late, great Carrie Fisher who will be in the film by way of older footage not used from The Force Awakens.

J.J. Abrams returns to helm the final film which will not only close out this last trilogy but it will also be a culmination of the entire 9 film span so he had a lofty goal for sure. I have been there since the beginning in 1977 so words haven’t been created yet to explain how excited I am. To see it end will surely be bittersweet but it will also be fantastic and even with all the blemishes the franchise has endured in recent years, I am still on the bandwagon now more than ever. I guess I’m just a positive person and I can accept change in my beloved franchises.

The finale hits theaters on December 20th. Watch the final trailer as well that dropped a while back in the player below!
