Frank Grillo is an actor that can elevate any film he is in and he has done it all from playing the hero, anti-hero, villain and more and now one of Grillo’s latest is now available on Blu-Ray, DVD and Digital courtesy of IFC Films and Cinedigm Home Entertainment. The film is called Donnybrook and it is an unforgiving and brutal look at desperate lives trying to survive a harsh world amid illegal, underground fighting. Check out the cover art below!

Three desperate souls must fight their way out of a dead-end world in this bracing, gut-wrenching glimpse into America’s dark underbelly. Earl (Jamie Bell, Billy Elliot) is a struggling father and ex-marine determined to make a better life for his family—no matter what it takes. Angus (Frank Grillo, Captain America: The Winter Soldier) is a violent, unhinged drug dealer who leaves a trail of death and destruction in his wake. And Delia (Margaret Qualley, The Leftovers) is a haunted woman who will do anything to escape a life of crime she can no longer bear. In their kill-or-be-killed world, all roads lead to the Donnybrook: an illicit backwoods cage match when bare-knuckled fighters brawl for a shot at a $100,000 prize. It’s either a last-ditch chance at redemption — or a death sentence. Blending unflinching brutality with dreamlike lyricism, screenwriter/director Tim Sutton conjures a mesmerizing, visceral vision of life on the extreme margins.

DONNYBROOK also stars Jamie Bell from the ill-conceived FANTASTIC FOUR film as well as 6 DAYS. 13 HOURS lead James Badge Dale stars also along with Margaret Qualley with Tim Sutton helming.

The bleak and unflinching tone has said to be spot on from the 2013 novel that was the source material written by Frank Bill. Grillo is in top form as the ruthless Angus and he just drips and oozes gravitas in it. Bell, who I enjoyed in 6 DAYS is at the center of the story as a father and ex-soldier who is trying to give his family a better way of life.
