Well this was unexpected but it appears that Sylvester Stallone and Dolph Lundgren will pull their collective action forces together for an as yet untitled action series. The cool news comes from Deadline and it is being reported that Lundgren will star in the show while Sly will serve as executive producer.
Per Deadline, “Written by drama veteran Ken Sanzel (Reef Break, Numbers), the series stars Lundgren as a covert operative at the Department of Safety and Security at the UN. He is described as the UN’s secret special agent, a one-man S.W.A.T. team and hostage negotiator.“

The series has already been pitched to the major networks NBC, CBS and Fox with only ABC not being interested as they are focusing on more female oriented programming. Your loss ABC!
There is also word that the streaming services Netflix and Apple are also interested in the new hour long action series so keep your fingers crossed action fanatics that this becomes a reality.
Sanzel will also serve as show runner and the rumor going around is that Stallone might helm the pilot episode but that remains to be seen. The series hails from Tony Krantz’s Flame Ventures.
Sly and Dolph have a long history together which originated when the two starred together in Rocky IV. The two have also appeared together in all three Expendables movies and were most recently reunited in Creed 2.
Stallone will, of course, be seen in Rambo: Last Blood this September 20th while Lundgren has the DTV action fest The Tracker hitting select theaters and Digital on August 9th from Lionsgate.
I don’t know about any of you but this is sounding like an awesome idea and I’m all for Lundgren kicking ass on a weekly basis or better yet binge watch it on Netflix. Stay tuned and keep it locked and loaded right here for more to details to come!
