Aliens have been making a massive comeback as of late with many countries making their own alien invasion epics and China is no exception as we now have a brand new international trailer for the upcoming action-disaster pic Shanghai Fortress, which sees Shu Qi (The Transporter, The Assassin) taking on some pretty nasty E.T.’s. Take a look at the teaser poster and new promo below!

Set in the future, the city of Shanghai China battles to defend itself against an ongoing attack by an alien force that has attacked that has laid siege to numerous cities around the globe in it’s quest to harvest a hidden energy only found on earth.

Helmed by Teng Huatao who is best known for the film The Matrimony, the sci-fi flick also stars The Great Wall’s Lu Han as well as Godfrey Gao, and Liang Shi. Word has it that the production is equel to any great blockbuster that Hollywood can crank out and a team of Hollywood’s finest worked on the film’s stunning visuals.

Shanghai Fortress is set to hit China on August 9th and expect more worldwide release info to drop in the future!
