It seems like Malaysia is getting into the Octagon as its first ever Malay-language MMA movie has just dropped a rousing new trailer. Word comes from Rojak Dailey that the thriller will hit soon and also presents a nice one sheet and images from the upcoming picture.
According to the site, “SANGKAR tells the story of two MMA fighters, Adam and Johan, who get into a fight outside the ring, resulting in Johan getting seriously injured.
Filled with guilt, Adam attempts to redeem himself by resorting to underground fights for monetary gains, which he chooses to share with Johan’s family.
On the other hand, Johan faces his own struggles and continues to fight for his health for the sake of his family.
Will both Adam and John be able to conquer their obstacles and misfortunes for a better future?“
The film stars Zul Ariffin, Remy Ishak, Mira Filzah, Adam Mika, Ray, Fadlan Hazim, Aman Graseka, Andy Teh and international MMA athlete James “Sledgehammer” McSweeney as well as Saiful Merican, Rashid Salleh, Peter Hugh Davis and Terry Gallyot.
SANGKAR was helmed by Kabir Bhatia, who is a award winning filmmaker.
The trailer infused some pretty engrossing drama along with brutal cage fighting action so this one looks interesting and if angry, the action will hopefully not disappoint.
SANGKAR opens in Malaysia as well as Brunei and Singapore on August 29th with more worldwide release details dropping soon!
