The Endgame may have come and gone but we are set to experience a whole new level in the MCU with the new Disney+ streaming service that is due to hit this fall. The new service is heating up the streaming game with a list of awesome originals including limited series based on some of their most popular Marvel films characters.

One series in the works is the Falcon And Winter Soldier which will reunite Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan. Mackie, of course, played Sam Wilson A.K.A. The Falcon while Stan portrayed Cap’s best friend Barkey Barnes who is also known as The Winter Soldier. The two stars will highlight the new show which like the other series announced will be limited and contain around 6 to 8 episodes.

Derek Kolstad, according to The Wrap who broke the news, has been asked to join the series creative team. Kolstad is the man behind creating John Wick and penned all three blockbuster films and is also currently working on an adaptation of the Just Cause video game series. Kolstad also sold his action-thriller pitch Booker to Sony Pictures after the studio won out in a serious bidding war for the project.

Kevin Feige, head of Marvel Studios, mentioned a while back that these Disney+ shows will be heavily connected to the films.

“These will be major storylines, set within the MCU, with ramifications that will be felt both through the other Disney+ series we’re producing and our features on the big screen,” Feige commented at an investor event in April that showcased Disney+ for the first time. “A post-‘Endgame’ MCU will be extremely different and extremely focused on Disney+ tying into our future movies.”

Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan in Falcon & Winter Soldier (2020)

The plot to the show is being kept under wraps at this time but Mackie and Stan will certainly star. Daniel Brujl, who played Helmut Zemo; “a vengeful Sokovian operative” in Civil War and Emily VanCamp, who played Sharon Carter in The Winter Soldier are reportedly linked to the show as well.

The Wrap also states that Falcon And The Winter Soldier will run for 6 episodes and is expected to hit the service in August of 2020.
