Fans all over the world are waiting anxiously for Disney’s live action remake of The Lion King but today we turn our attention to next year as the giant studio has unveiled a first look teaser at the highly anticipated MULAN. Check out the first look footage below!

Official Synopsis: When the Emperor of China issues a decree that one man per family must serve in the Imperial Army to defend the country from Northern invaders, Hua Mulan, the eldest daughter of an honored warrior, steps in to take the place of her ailing father. Masquerading as a man, Hua Jun, she is tested every step of the way and must harness her inner-strength and embrace her true potential. It is an epic journey that will transform her into an honored warrior and earn her the respect of a grateful nation…and a proud father.

The latest Disney live adaptation of one of their hit animated films boasts a sensational international cast that includes Yifei Liu as the title heroine Mulan, martial arts and action legend Donnie Yen as Commander Tung, Jason Scott Lee from Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story as Böri Khan, Yoson An as Cheng Honghui, Gong Li as Xianniang and the one and only Jet Li as the Emperor. The film was helmed by Niki Caro from a screenplay penned by Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver and Elizabeth Martin & Lauren Hynek and it is based on the iconic narrative poem “The Ballad of Mulan.”

I am, of course excited to see the great Donnie Yen on the big screen again abd we can only hope that he will be able to unleash some of his fists and feet of fury as Commander ztung. It is also awesome to see the iconic Jet Li back on the screen as well and even though his role will probably be limited, it is still an honor to have him in the film.

Mulan hits theaters next year on March 27th so check out what is sure to be the first of many trailers below!
