Underrated? Yes. Unfortunately, Aaron Eckhart never rose to the levels of Hollywood A levels like he should have back in the day but there is no denying that the versatile actor and underrated action star keeps delivering a bevy of adrenaline laced titles for action fans everywhere. Eckhart is one of those actors that kills it acting wise in anything he is in and lately, he has amassed quite the action film arsenal in his filmography with films like Classified, Chief of Station, the Muzzle films, The Bricklayer and the Jesse V. Johnson helmed gritty actioner Thieves Highway. To the average, casual moviegoer, these films could just look like derivative DTV action fare but to the trained eye, these films serve a purpose and deliver what they need for fans while checking all the boxes.
Well, Aaron Eckhart is back and now he has a serious memory problem along with a host of strangers who want him dead in his lates actioner Modern Citizen. Tag Mendillo, who has served as producer on multiple projects, makes his directorial debut here with Superman & Lois’ Emmanuelle Chriqui also starring. Ian Arnison-Phillips penned the script. Now the movie has a new trailer for you all to sink your teeth into. Check it out and watch Eckhart run the gauntlet again!
MODEL CITIZEN follows Steven Bay (Aaron Eckhart), a former police officer haunted by amnesia and fragments of a life he can no longer remember. Seeking treatment while working on an isolated farm, Steven finds himself trapped in an increasingly unsettling world of constant surveillance, mounting suspicion, and unexplained instincts that suggest someone is controlling far more than his recovery. As reality begins to fracture around him, Steven launches a desperate search for answers, uncovering a web of technology, manipulation, and human experimentation. With every revelation raising new questions, MODEL CITIZEN is a pulse-pounding sci-fi crime thriller where identity is a weapon, memory is a prison, and the truth may be impossible to escape.
TRAILER TACTICAL REACTION: We’ve seen action-thrillers like this before where our stalwart hero doesn’t remember where he came from but then suddenly kicks into one man army mode and Modern Citizen looks to drive this trope to the finish line. Eckhart looks great as always and this film looks to merge phycological drama with bullet blasting action so here’s hoping the latter delivers while the former serves its purpose. If anything, Eckhart will bring his gravitas to the proceedings and Modern Citizen should at least entertain for a few hours.
Model Citizen Hits Digital & VOD on November 3rd!
