A former soldier working in construction to save his family’s farm, is eager to return to his wife and son. But his homecoming is derailed when he inadvertently becomes entangled in the bloody aftermath of a botched mob robbery. While escaping the chaos, Dave unknowingly acquires a bag of money, making him the target of ruthless criminals.
Blaire Moore writes and directs with a supporting cast that includes Nathan Phillips, Steve Mouzakis, Robert Rabiah, and Jeremy Lindsay Taylor. Moore also produces alongside Dru Brown, Brett Kennedy, Anna Kolenko, Steve Morris, Michael Mier, and Lav Bodnaruk.
Badlands Rising is as expected with star Jake Ryan battle ready, and the action sequences are practical, grounded and chaotic. This latest slice of blood drenched cinema from Australia certainly wets the appetite for all things mayhem, and this one definitely tantalizes with its simplistic plot, vile bad guys and a lone anti-hero that deploys beast mode. It’s 97 minutes of prime brutality with creative kills and f@ck yeah moments that will make the audience cheer. One can never get enough of villains messing with the wrong guy and here yet another former special forces bad ass is tested and once again my money is on the lone warrior with everything to fight for. Badlands Rising is no holds barred cinema that unloads the ballistic and kinetic carnage with a stripped down, gritty, grimy and ferocious vibe. A definite must see that checks all the boxes for serious fans of action looking for their next fix!
