Can you smell what Tony Jaa is cooking?! Well, his legion of fans can and this weekend the martial arts action icon teased a major new project along with the Panna Stunt Team. While the project is top secret right now, we do know that Jaa will be reuniting with fellow Thai action superstars Dan Chupong (Dynamite Warrior) and Jeeja Yanin (Chocolate). Jaa recently defeated his biggest advisory of his life after undergoing treatment for gallbladder cancer and knocking it out and now the legend is ready to take on action cinema once again. Scroll below for the official first look reveal at Jaa, Yanin, Chupong and the Panna-Stunt team named after legendary and prolific Thai action filmmaker Panna Rittikrai who was responsible for such classics as Jaa’s Ong Bak and Tom-Yum-Goong!

Whether this project is a movie, action short or something else altogether we do not know. We do know that a trailer will hit Jaa’s official Facebook page this Monday so more intel will drop then. Whatever it is, it’s nothing short of spectacular to see Jaa back in action once again after winning his fight with cancer and reuniting with Yanin and Chupong. One thing is for sure and that the project with feature jaw dropping, body pummeling, second to none Thai action design with the elite status of talent involved.
Tony Jaa is influential in redefining martial arts action cinema back in the day with such iconic films as Ong Bak, Tom Yum Goong (AKA The Protector) and more. Jaa along with the late, great Panna Rittikrai were instrumental in kicking down the doors to action on film as we knew it with their bone breaking exhilarating action and stunts that really ushered in a new age of martial combat. Watching one of their films and one would have to wonder how no one was killed while making it as the action was that insane and off the charts. Jaa basically put his life in danger with every sequence which included shots of him transforming his body into some sort of inhuman heat seeking missile that defied the laws of physics. I’ll never forget the first time I saw Jaa in action and marveled at what he could do with his body. Here’s hoping this new project pays homage to those glory days, and Thai action cinema reemerges as a serious threat once again.
