As the new trailer shouts, it’s going to be a lovely day when Motor City hits theaters. Starring Alan Ritchson (Reacher). this new action-drama is all set to deliver the desired responses from hardcore enthusiasts of violently self-indulging cinema. Ritchson, who has been a major rise since killing it on Prime’s hit series Reacher looks to do something different in his latest film that lets the action speak louder than words. Who needs dialogue anyways when the new teaser starts off with Ritchson loading a double barrel shotgun just seconds before he charges at a speeding car. Let the bombastic crescendo commence!
In 1970s Detroit, a working-class romantic is framed by a ruthless gangster after falling for his girlfriend. After years in prison, he returns with only one mission: revenge.
Ritchson stars with a stacked genre cast including Shailene Woodley, HALO’s Pablo Schreiber and the always game Ben Foster. Potsy Ponciroli (awesome name BTW) directs from a script penned by Chad St. John.
TRAILER TACTICAL REACTION: I was sold with Motor City when I simply found out about the premise and who it was starring. After viewing this second teaser, my confidence in me enjoying this assault cinema is assured as we get a 70’s Hallmark movie first before it kicks into Scarface mode. Ritchson is an absolute beast, and his retro rage is front and center here as the action kicks it back to the glory days of adrenaline cinema when the hits felt real, the explosions singed your hair and the bullets sliced through the air like knife through butter. Ritchson is proof that there are still action stars out there that are reminiscent to the 80’s when Stallone and Schwarzenegger fought to see who could get bigger so when this one hits, I’m gonna sit back, relax and enjoy the bloodletting without having to worry about listening to dialogue. It’s overrated anyways.
