Well Go USA is going full-throttle apocalyptic for their upcoming actioner Warriors of the Wasteland! This time out the Balkans are the landscape for this savage tale of bloody revenge and the ultimate survival in a land ruled by fear and ammunition is the only currency. The film will set to hit this July on Digital followed by a Blu-Ray/DVD launch in September. In a distant future following a nuclear catastrophe, the West Balkans have become a lawless wasteland where the most valuable currency is the bullet in the action-packed sci-fi adventure WARRIORS OF THE WASTELAND, debuting on Digital July 7 from Well Go USA Entertainment.
A mysterious blind fiddler wanders the ruins, singing the legend of the “Grain People” — a peaceful community of wheat-growers who refuse to submit to a distant city’s tyranny. When a young warrior’s family is slaughtered by a deranged warlord, he embarks on a bloody quest for vengeance. Armed only with a blade and a motorcycle, he must navigate radioactive cults and hallucinations to protect the last remnants of civilization. Directed by Nemanja Ćeranić (Loan Shark), the film stars Igor Benčina, Isidora Simijonović, Sergej Trifunović, Marta Bjelica, and Jovo Maksić.
A trailer is forthcoming but, in the meantime, let me just say that Warriors of the Wasteland definitely has that throwback vibe to all the 80’s post-apocalyptic madness that flooded video store shelves. Looking to fuse nuclear aftermath with sword slicing samurai action is a solid turn on investment and this one should entertain for fans of this genre and for those like me that ran to the video store to eat these types of films up. The warrior with no name. A ruthless dictator with an army and innocent community of civilians to save. Mad Max meets The Last Samurai from the look of this one so sign me up. All in a day’s work so check back here when a trailer for the film hits!
