There are a few certainties in life. Some being that we must pay taxes. We will eventually leave this earth and an action movie from filmmaker William Kaufman will rock with bombastic, tactical, grounded action. The latter is what I am here to properly pump up as his latest offering once known as Nightingale is coming soon and is now titled appropriately enough Man of War. Lioness star LaMonica Garrett, who has collaborated with Kaufman on a few projects, is now front and center for this one as he plays a lethal CIA operator who must navigate the war-torn locales of Ukraine in order to pull off a suicidal rescue mission. You had me at William Kaufman and the title so officially count me all in on this one per usual.
Well Go USA is distributing Man of War for hardcore action genre fans and with the film poised and ready to hit soon, a rather awesome looking poster of star LaMonica Garrett deploying one man army mode is now making the waves online so scroll below for your first look at Kaufman’s newest bullet infested actioner!

Synopsis: When an aid worker vanishes in the first hours of the war in Ukraine, a former CIA operative crosses into the shattered country to bring her home-facing mercenaries, shifting battle lines, and the ghosts he thought he left behind.
Kaufman not only directs but he also penned the script along with Paul Reichelt. Garrett stars alongside Jason Patric, Linds Edwards, Andrew Howard and martial arts/action icon Daniel Bernhardt.
With a cast like this and Kaufman’s track record for delivering authentic tactical/military style action that is visceral and grounded should make Man of War hit any serious action movie fan’s must-see list. Expect more to hit in the near future including a must-see trailer and release intel so lock ‘n’ load right here for all the latest on the film.
Man of War is part of Kaufman’s Irish Channel Studios production banner which aims to deliver the finest in indie action cinema and includes past action hits like The Channel, Osiris, Shrapnel and genre fan favorites Daylight’s End and Sinners and Saints. Irish Channel Studios is officially online.
After years of making hard-edged genre films — Man of War, The Channel, Osiris, Shrapnel, cult favorites Daylight’s End and Sinners and Saints, and more — the studio finally has a proper home on the web.
Head to irishchannelstudios.com to explore the filmography, learn more about the studio’s vision, and see what’s coming next.
We make films about people living close to violence and the choices and consequences that come with it. If that sounds like your kind of cinema, we’d love to have you along for the ride. -William Kaufman
New Orleans-based independent production company founded by filmmaker William Kaufman. Irish Channel Studios develops original screenplays and produces grounded, character-driven action and genre films with in-house production, post-production, and visual effects capabilities.
Based in Louisiana, the company combines world-class crews, gritty real-world locations, and access to one of the industry’s strongest film incentive programs — helping productions maximize substantial Louisiana tax credits while delivering cinematic value far beyond their budget level.
In the meantime, check out my exclusive interview with William Kaufman along with star Linds Edwards for their recent collaboration, the aforementioned sci-fi combat actioner Osiris, which made my best of 2025 list last year!
