There was a time when I felt that every action blogger but me had seen the upcoming leading contender for best action film of the year, also known as The Furious. From acclaimed action and fight director Kenji Tanigaki who makes his directorial debut here, this film looks to redefine martial arts action cinema just like movies like Bloodsport, The Raid and John Wick did. Every day I would go online and see more and more first reactions hailing this picture as the second coming and now that I was finally able to view it this week, I only have one thing to say. Everyone was right. I might be late to the party, but I can categorically agree that this movie will not only check all the boxes for genre fans, but it will literally kick the ever living shit out of them.
I’ve been out of the loop the past month or so as my new position at work has kept me extremely busy but I am now here to herald the return of legit, no holds barred brutal fight action like no other created by some of the best in the business in front of and behind the camera. This is a powder keg of extreme, blood soaked, savage martial combat like no other and Joe Taslim and Xie Miao are set to become the ultimate reigning duo of martial arts action when this film finally makes its worldwide bow.
In celebration of the impending theatrical release, Lionsgate has issued some satisfying action clips from the film showcasing the insane skill set of all involved including Taslim, Miao and The Raid alum Yayan Ruhian. Check out the visceral carnage that awaits when the film hits below!

Fueled by a furious vengeance, the unlikely duo ruthlessly fights against the kidnappers in this explosive martial arts showdown.

Full review embargos are still in effect, but first reactions have been storming the web for weeks and now it is time for me to finally board the hype train. The Furious is next level action from a team of Navy SEAL caliber action cinema talent that is unrivaled. This one not only lives up to the hype but it jump spinning hook kicks it into the wall with some of the most savage and visceral empty-handed martial combat ever captured on screen. The story is rich with heartfelt human emotion while at the same time brandishing some of the best and unrivaled blood spraying and bone shattering action design that will be nearly impossible to surpass in the future. This is elite martial arts action that will redefine the genre for years to come. More to come later.
Hopefully within the next few weeks leading up to the release, I will have some very special exclusives to share with you, so fingers crossed. I never let the cat out of the bag before it actually happens as to not jinx anything but let’s just say that I will be chatting with some very special peeps involved with the movie. Stay tuned!
