An ex-special forces contractor who has retired to live a peaceful life as an avocado farmer in Mexico must fight again, when the local gangsters try to force him and his family off their farm.
I’ve been saying for years that Bren Foster deserves to be a bigger name in action cinema and finally it looks like the import from down under is getting his time to shine as he is about to activate some serious beast mode for his latest hard hitting actioner Mexicali. Set to arrive this May from action maestro Luke LaFontaine (The Debt Collector franchise) who is making his directorial debut, this latest infusion of firepower and fisticuffs proves that when you pick a fight with the wrong man, it’s gonna be time to show the violence. With the film ramping up promotion for its release next month per Samuel Goldwyn Films, the movie’s production company Bleiberg Entertainment has unleashed a promotional sales trailer for the pic which looks to satisfy. Scroll below and check out Bren Foster doing Bren Foster things in what will undoubtedly be one of the best action pics of the year!
Joe, a retired special forces soldier, has hung up his guns and made his way south of the border to retire on an avocado farm owned by his girlfriend Estrella. While Joe is definitely a lover and a fighter, it turns out he is not much of a farmer and he and Estrella struggle to make ends meet, with Joe resorting to underground pit fights for extra cash to keep the farm alive and his workers—whom he his deeply loyal to—paid. But when he runs afoul
of some local cartel thugs, and they threaten the life of one of his employees, Joe’s instincts kick in and he kills the gangsters in self-defense.
The only problem is that one of the deceased gangsters happened to be the son of the most powerful cartel boss in the region. With the full force of the cartel bearing down upon them, Joe and Estrella are run off their beloved farm and forced into hiding, with the cunning underboss Baptiste and his muscle, Ruthie, in hot pursuit. Now the fists and bullets will fly, bodies will drop and all hell breaks loose as Joe finds a way to turn the tables on
the cartel, protect his family and take back his home…

Fellow elite action filmmaker Jesse V. Johnson penned the script, and the film also stars Tania Raymonde, Plutarco Haza, Louis Mandylor and Kris Van Damme. Samuel Goldwyn Films recently snagged the rights to the film which will theaters on May 13th so we do not have long to wait to see Foster do what he does best and that’s make fools look even more foolish.
The new footage highlights not only some serious ass kicking action design but there will also be a massive amount of bullet shredding theatrics as some serious firepower looks to highlight the finale. How do you make a Bren Foster actioner even more savage? Just add some firefights into the mix and have him take on JCVD’s son Kris for a showstopper. Foster is essentially in full on one man army mode here and this movie will check all the boxes for hardcore action aficionados looking for legit action from legit stars and filmmakers who know how to deliver.
