Who remembers the time when they dangled a Strike Back feature length movie that would star original series leads Sullivan Stapleton and Philip Winchester? I do and when it never materialized, to say I was upset would have been an understatement. Ever since that potential reteaming of Stapleton and Winchester, I have been optimistic that we would still see both actors share the screen together one day.
Well, that day has arrived and while this is not the Strike Back film we had hoped for, both Sullivan Stapleton and Philip Winchester are reuniting for a new assassin thriller from filmmaker James Bamford who has parlayed a successful stuntman career into directing and making indie actioners that deliver. To make things even juicier, it would appear that both actors are on opposite sides in this one which looks to cement a showdown of fisticuffs between the two. Oh, and there are some young protagonists who are lethally trained killers looking to shut down the organization that created them thrown in as well, but let’s face it, it’s all about Stapleton and Winchester here. Take a look at the new trailer and see a few old friends resurface!
Synopsis:
A ruthless, highly trained assassin, raised from childhood in a top-secret CIA program known only as The Internship, is ready to dismantle the institution that stole her youth. Assembling her fellow interns, she leads a bloody uprising – forcing the CIA to unleash equally lethal force to stop them.

The Internship stars Sullivan Stapleton and Philip Winchester along with Lizzy Greene, Megan Boone, Sky Katz, Alix Villaret and Ollie Roddy. James Bamford helms the full-throttle action pic from a script written by J.D. Zeik based on an idea from Steven Paul who also produces. Scott Karol executive produces the film.

Judging from the trailer, Stapleton has a bigger role than Winchester here but the two face off which should be a highlight for action fans like me. There are some rather rad looking action sequences included as well so this definitely looks like one of 2026’s must see action pics as the film hits in January.
