I really want to see what transpires after Iko Uwais strikes that pose in his new film Timur. While I impatiently wait, allow me to share the international trailer for the action star’s directorial debut. Uwais is front and center in front of and behind the camera as he not only stars as a member of an elite military unit but he also executive produces via his Uwais Pictures production banner. Oh, and he also makes his debut as director on this one as well and with that, we have a more extended trailer to accompany the teaser that his a few weeks back. A soldier named Timur leads a rescue team on a dangerous mission to free researchers kidnapped in the jungle. Trapped in a fraught area, they must face extreme terrain, time pressure, and unexpected dangers.
Timur marks Uwais’ first directorial effort as well and he also stars along with Andri Mashadi (The Shadow Strays), Yusuf Mahardika (Borderless Fog), Yasamin Jasem (Temurun) and Prabowo Subianto who also happened to be directly involved with Operation Mapenduma back in 1996 so he definitely will bring some legit credentials and authentic drama to the film.
The extended trailer focuses more on the emotional scale that is at stake but there are vignettes of what is to come when it comes to the visceral and fully kinetic martial arts and military combat involved in the epic action sequences. Uwais is a true and legit talent in the martial arts and with him fully in control of this movie, fans can expect nothing but the best from one of the best.
