Once known as Lioness, Kate Beckinsale’s latest action-packed thriller now known as Wildcat has received a brand-new poster ahead of its November debut. The movie was recently acquired by Aura Entertainment for a theatrical and digital release via Deadline. The film also stars next gen action star Lewis Tan of Mortal Kombat and the upcoming Safe House and was directed by James Nunn (One Shot) who has directed several action films in his career. The name change was probably made so the film would not be confused with the Paramount Plus military action series of the same name from Taylor Sheridan with Academy Award winner Zoe Saldana in the lead. Wildcats still delivers a definitive one-word punch so this one certainly is on the top of my must-see list.
Beckinsale and Tan star in the black ops thriller about “an ex-black ops team who reunite to pull off a desperate heist to save the life of their leader’s (Beckinsale) eight-year-old daughter.” The film also stars Rasmus Hardiker, Alice Krige, Bailey Patrick, Tom Bennett, Matt Willis and Roxy Striar. Nunn directed from a script penned by Dominic Burns’ (Madness In The Method).
Aura Entertainment is a newly formed U.S. distributor which was created earlier this year. Capstone Studios, Signature Entertainment and Ascending Media Group formed Aura Entertainment to launch signature genre movies with Wildcat being one of the first for the company.
Nunn has proven action worthy with several high-octane flicks under his director’s belt including the Scott Adkins led actioners One Shot and it’s follow up One More Shot as well as Eliminators which also starred Adkins as well as Stu Bennett. Beckinsale (the Underworld franchise, Jolt) and Tan are also no strangers to adrenaline on film, so this has the makings of being a solid entry for the genre. With the release of the poster expect a trailer to hit soon.
Wildcat is set to hit theaters & Digital on November 25th!
