Black Bear Sets January 2026 release foe Jason Statham’s SHELTER!

Sorry as I am in playoff baseball mode with my Guardians delivering enough reasons to start drinking again but I had to deploy the Weekly Intel Rapid fire and go full out Jason Statham edition as the action icon is readying to take down the baddies this winter as Black Bear announces a January 2026 launch date for Shelter!
THR reported the news yesterday that Black Bear’s new production slate is full steam ahead and one of the first films to hit will be Statham’s Shelter with a January 30th theatrical release. The film sees Ric Roman Waugh (Greenland, Angel Has Fallen) helming from a script penned by Ward Perry. Statham stars along with Bodhi Rae (Hamnet), Naomi Ackie (Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance with Somebody) and Bill Nighy.
Not that any self-respecting Statham fan needs a synopsis as we all know it’s just an excuse for the lethal Brit to deploy his signature skills, but Shelter does have a plot, and you can read it below!
The story follows a reclusive man who lives in a remote house by the sea. But when he rescues a young girl from drowning in a terrible storm, he unwittingly sets off a chain reaction that soon brings violence his way, forcing him to confront choices from his past.
“Jason is an icon who continues to be at the top of his game,” said Benjamin Kramer, Black Bear’s U.S. distribution president. “Bringing him together with Ric, another distinguished force in the action space, along with a gripping story and an exceptional group of fellow cast members, promises to make this a must-see event.
Set your schedules accordingly as Shelter and the Stath are all set to assault theaters on January 30th, 2026!
MCU Alum Pom Klementieff and Wrestling Star Adam Copeland Join Jason Statham in Director Timo Tjahjanto’s The Beekeeper 2!

Along with word that Hollywood icon Jeremy Irons will be reprising his role in the upcoming sequel The Beekeeper 2, we now have word that the follow up has added some definite co-starring punch as MCU alum Pom Klementieff and former wrestling star turned actor Adam Copeland will join Statham in the sequel.
Klementieff is best known for starring in James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy films while Copeland has the skills and physical attributes to give Statham a run for his money having crushed a massive career in professional wrestling while eventually turning his sights on acting. Copeland was best known for his wrestling alter ego Edge while dishing out some fierce competition throughout the decades of his long career.
Director Timo Tjahjanto is directing, and he brings some legit action cred to the sequel having made such brutal epics as The Night Comes for Us and most recently Nobody 2. Kurt Wimmer serves as screenwriter with Statham also swerving as producer via his Punch Palace Productions. Filming is already underway from Miramax who is handling the financing with Amazon MGM dealing with worldwide distribution.
Along with Statham and Irons, additional returning cast members also include Emmy Raver‑Lampman, Bobby Naderi, and Jemma Redgrave with newcomer Yara Shahidi adding new blood to the franchise.
Plot details are secret right now, but the original dealt with Statham’s character of Adam Clay who wages a one-man war on those responsible for the death of a close friend. The killing is part of a bigger conspiracy that goes all the way to the top of the government with Clay taking no prisoners as he seeks his pound of flesh. Expect more of the same from Statham including brutal action design, on screen combat and kinetic violence.
