Sometimes one is just in the mood for a gritty, dirty, stripped down and visceral crime drama and we’ve got what looks like a good one with the upcoming Violent Ends. Death Wish takes on a whole new meaning in this thriller starring Billy Magnussen (Road House) and James Badge Dale (13 Hours) who are at odds when the latter kills someone very important to our main anti-hero. Check out the new footage below!
A southern revenge thriller of star-crossed lovers set against the backdrop of the Ozark Mountains, Violent Ends chronicles the life of Lucas Frost, an honest man brought up in a crime family whose only legacy is violence.

Directed by John-Michael Powell from a script he also penned, Violent Ends also stars Alexandra Shipp, Nick Stahl, Kate Burton and Ray McKinnon.
First reactions from the trailer deliver a slow burn aesthetic that looks to implode with unforgiving violence and Magnussen, who was over the top as the baddie in the Road House redo, looks much more solemn here and filled with a quiet and surging anger. James Badge Dale always delivers as one of the best character actors out there right now, and he looks downright vile, so this one looks to check the boxes for revenge seeking filmgoers.
